Kay Carpenter teaches nursing students at FAU to “pay it forward” through her scholarship.

Kay Carpenter established her named scholarship fund to provide scholarships for deserving students in the College of Nursing. Through her gift, Kay hopes to instill an understanding of the mutual process of giving and receiving. She has joyfully and generously given so that FAU students can complete their educations, become nurses, and provide compassionate care to those they serve throughout their nursing journeys.

A distinguished nurse, proud of her profession, and eager to help patients as well as provide counsel to public health professionals, Kay earned her B.S. from the University of Michigan, her R.N from Geneva, Switzerland’s Le Bon Secours School of Nursing, and her M.A. in counseling psychology from the University of Santa Clara. After researching nursing programs throughout South Florida and learning more about the culture of caring that is central to the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing, she was drawn to give her scholarship support to FAU.
